Our Newest Team Member: The UV Max

At Gallagher Uniform, we work tirelessly to stay ahead on as many things as we can, including tools, products, and technology, but especially in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, cleanliness and sanitation are certainly top of mind. Although it’s always a priority for our team, we’re excited to now employ the UV Max and continue to work toward top of the line hygienic practices.

What is the UV Max?

The UV Max is a mobile disinfection unit that uses UV-C light energy to keep surfaces clean. For us, the UV Max keeps linen transport vehicles as clean and sanitized as possible, and also cleans rooms, soil sort areas, break rooms, and bathrooms. In a time where COVID-19 protocols are being heavily enforced and are vital to the health of our employees and clients, the UV Max allows us to continue to dedicate ourselves to the safety of our team members and of course, to you.

How does it work?

Here at Gallagher, the UV Max allows us to sanitize our spaces and surfaces using UV-C light energy. Short-wavelength ultraviolet light instantly kills germs, bacteria, and viruses by destroying and disrupting their DNA—this is high level stuff! By leaving the bacteria unable to perform cellular functions, it halts their spread, keeping all of us safe.

How do we use it? 

For Gallagher, our main uses for the UV Max are sanitizing all route trucks after soiled garments are unloaded, and for cleaning bathrooms and common areas. This device adds to our hygienically clean efforts and ensures that all of our trucks are safe and clean, no matter what.

What are the benefits?

Other than sanitizing high traffic areas, the UV Max offers a safe way to clean. It eliminates use of harsh chemicals and reduces water usage. By not having to spend time with standard cleaners, our employees can focus on the tasks at hand and let the UV Max do the hard work (and arguably a more thorough job). This additional internal cleaning device gives us the opportunity to continue to evolve with the times and work toward a workplace that promotes the highest level of cleanliness and sanitization, both inside our facility and in regard to all equipment that our customers may also come into contact with.
